Is indicated for the treatment of patients with mild to moderate indications caused by susceptible strain of the designated micro-organism in the specific condition listed below.(a) Lower respiratory tract infection (acute bacterial bronchitis and community acquired pneumonia in patients suitable for out patient oral treatment and in patients who require initial intravenous therapy)(b) upper respiratory tract infection (acute sinusitis, acute streptococcal pharyngitis/tonsillitis and acute Otitis media in children (c)uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections. (d) Sexually transmitted diseases (uncomplicated urethiritis and cervicitis). (e) Antimicrobial agent use in high doses for short period of time to treat non-gonococcal urethiritis may mask or delay the symptoms of incubating syphilis. All patients with sexually transmitted urethiritis Cervicitis should have a serological test for syphilis and appropriate cultures for gonorrhea performed at the time of diagnosis .appropriate anti microbial therapy and follow up tests for these diseases should be initiated if infection is confirmed (f) pelvis inflammatory disease in patients who require initial intravenous therapy (g) Chlamydia trachomatis conjunctivitis and trachoma in adults and in children 12
